Everything below only takes effect after you enroll and unlock your keyring.

Fill assist (lists your saved logins under a login field and fills only the one you pick; never submits)

Offer same-page login save/update prompts (explicit trusted confirmation only; navigation discards the candidate)

Enable passkeys (Keyring answers a site's passkey requests; ones it cannot handle go to the browser)

Ask for the Keyring password at every passkey use (otherwise an unlocked Keyring needs one confirming click)

Turn off the browser's own password saving (so only Keyring offers to save; passwords the browser saved earlier stay in its list)

Show locally available site icons

Chrome local favicon cache only; no website, icon service, or Lifub request.

Page helpers require website access for that site in the browser's extension settings.

Fast lane Trade-offs

Each switch saves a click or a password by dropping a safeguard; its note says which. Off is safer.

Fill on focus or when a sign-in form opens (fills the login you chose last time on a site, or its only login, as soon as you click into the sign-in field or a sign-in form opens after your click; www.example.com and example.com count as one site; pick another from the list to replace it)

Fill one-time codes (enters the current code of the site's linked authenticator into a verification-code field, also right after Keyring fills a sign-in form that asks for one)

Sign in with passkeys without confirming (while Keyring is unlocked and the site's tab is in front, a sign-in with the site's only passkey completes without Keyring's window, and with several the window opens straight at the account list; any script on that site could then sign in as you without a click; saving a new passkey still asks; needs "Ask for the Keyring password at every passkey use" off)

Stay unlocked when the browser restarts (until auto-lock; anyone with a copy of this browser profile could open it)

Allow your automation extension to control Keyring (status, title search, settings, lock, unlock and set up with a password file, sign-in fill, import and reset; it can never read a password, code or passkey)
