Tab Management
Close ungrouped tabs to the right with Checking shortcut registration.... Suggested shortcut: Option+Shift+R on macOS, Alt+Shift+R elsewhere. Change or disable it at brave://extensions/shortcuts. It works while Brave has focus, independently of automatic cleanup, and can close playing tabs.
Both tools preserve pinned, highlighted, grouped, split-view, Vynx control and in-flight work tabs. Grouped tabs are left untouched to preserve saved and shared groups. The shortcut affects only tabs to the right in the invoking window.
Checks run approximately every 15 minutes in normal, non-incognito windows and consider HTTP(S) pages only. Existing tabs start aging when enabled; new tabs age from when Vynx observes them opening. Revisiting or navigating a tab does not reset its age. Browser restart or extension reload/update resets ages; disabling and re-enabling starts a fresh clock.
Inactive unpinned drafts can still close. Pin work you want to keep. Browser confirmation prompts remain under your control; uncertain closes pause further closing and are never retried automatically. Turning cleanup off stops new closes but cannot undo one already dispatched.
Context-menu Proofreading
Uses your current chat provider, model and reasoning effort. The exact original and the complete reply are saved in Vynx chat before a supported editable selection is replaced. Editing, cancellation or a stale selection leaves the source unchanged. Read-only selections are saved to chat only. Passwords and other sensitive fields are refused. Nothing is submitted.
Cookie Banners
Ad and Tracker Blocking
Blocks common advertising and tracking requests with conservative lists compiled into this Vynx build. Matching runs in the browser's native network engine; Vynx never downloads filter lists while you browse.
If a site breaks, turn off the advertising or tracking list and reload the page. Vynx still creates no broad or per-site exceptions; the only narrower scope is a temporary, single-tab suspension the MCP Bridge can install on a tab it drives, which ends when that tab is released or closed, or when the bridge stops.
Brave Shields is independent. Disabling a Vynx list does not allow a request that Brave itself blocks.
Extension Open Mode
Choose how Vynx opens from its toolbar icon. The compact regular popup is the fastest default; popout and sidebar remain available for longer sessions.
Dark Mode Overrides
Domains where the regular page appearance is overridden with dark mode ( or the popup button).
Hidden Elements
CSS selectors whose matching elements are hidden per domain.
YouTube Declutter
Hides YouTube's own distractions with plain CSS on www.youtube.com and m.youtube.com, including Brave-derived filters, members-only discovery and desktop Premium promotions. Hidden discovery content and thumbnails may still arrive in shared feed responses; this does not block network loading. Intentionally opened videos and Shorts still play; no URL is redirected. The master is off by default. Every time you enable it, all filters except thumbnails are selected; change any below afterwards. YouTube changes its markup often: if a filter stops working or hides too much, turn it off and reload the page.
Mobile-only filters act only on m.youtube.com. The distractions switch also hides Premium statement banners on www.youtube.com; ordinary videos, podcasts and branded video shelves remain visible.
Picture-in-Picture (PiP)
Open a YouTube video or any HTML5 <video> in PiP so it stays visible across tabs and applications. Hover a video for the PiP button, or press . Uses native video PiP when possible and Document Picture-in-Picture for iframe players.
Display
Saved chats
Download saved chat and proofreading history as JSON. The export does not include settings, authentication or MCP Bridge credentials.
Experimental Features
MCP Bridge
Connect to a Voyk MCP server so an editor agent (e.g. Zed's Claude plugin) can dispatch browser actions remotely.
When active, the connected MCP server can navigate pages, click elements, and read page content in your browser on behalf of the agent. Only connect to servers you trust.
Each browser has its own Session ID (it is the access key), so multiple users - and multiple browsers of one user - can connect to the same server at once. The agent targets a specific browser by its Session ID; there is no implicit "default" session.
Single source of truth: this must match the session ID your MCP client is configured with for this exact browser profile. Give every browser profile its own ID, and never reuse another profile's. A mismatch is the usual cause of "browser extension not connected". Editing a running bridge restarts it automatically.
